March 2022

Spring is right around the corner...

The International Day of Happiness takes place on March 20th each year and coincides with the arrival of spring.
A happy coincidence because obviously spring is one of the happiest seasons!
And it is in that same joyful spirit that Disciples Escoffier from all around the world gathered, as usual, to share convivial moments.
Check out their news:

2022 International Meetings

We are pleased to finally announce the new dates of our awaited International Meetings.

The Riviera Côte d'Azur Corse and Monaco delegation will be delighted to welcome you to Nice from October 07 to 09th.

The program will arrive without further delay, it will have undergone only small modifications.

France Zone

Hauts de France

On February 21, the 38th chapter of the Disciples Escoffier of the Hauts de France delegation took place at the Golf de Gueux, organized by Jacqueline Perard, in charge of the Champagne Ardennes region.

A big thanks to Cristina Finot, manager of the golf of Gueux, for this moment of sharing and conviviality and welcome to the 10 new members!

Then on Friday, March 4, it was a dinner at the Lycée Jeanne d'Arc in Aulnoyes Aymeries where donations totalling € 3,563 were given to various associations.
The delegation would like to thank Richard Fétré, Principal of the school and all his team, teachers and students for the realization of the meal.

This dynamic delegation was also present at the Salon de l’Agriculture in Paris, where the Interior Minister, Gérald Darmanin and Guillaume Gomez were for a visit at their stand... but they also received a friendly visit from the Disciples of Normandie Grand Ouest!

Congratulations to the Hauts de France delegation for their dynamism and their multiple actions!

Grand Lyon Ain Loire

Passing the torch...

The new President of the Grand Lyon Ain Loire delegation is now Christophe Geoffroy, and the members of his board are Christian Janier, Jean Claude Pequet and Bernard Corbignot.

“Very honoured to have been elected president of the Disciples Escoffier Grand Lyon Ain Loire delegation, surrounded by my office composed of MOF Fromager Christian Janier Secretary General, MOF Boucher Bernard Corbignot Vice-President in charge of contests, and MOF Cuisinier Jean Claude Péquet the Treasurer.” says Christophe Geoffroy, President Delegation Grand Lyon Ain Loire.

We wish him a great mandate!

Asia Pacific Zone

Philippines

For their first chapter of the year, the Philippines delegation, chaired by Sau del Rosario, was honored by the presence of the Ambassador of France Michele Boccoz at the restaurant Chef Jessie, Rockwell in Makiti.

The delegation would like to warmly thank the Vins le Cellier for their generosity.

Here is a glimpse of this beautiful evening where several Disciples prepared dinner to delight the 23 other Disciples gastronomes who came to share a convivial moment.

Indonesia

Following the phenomenal success of the first Epicure’s dinner of this young delegation, a second dinner was organized to satisfy all those who were not able to attend the worldwide event.

Chef Gilles Marx, President of the Indonesian delegation and Resident Chef of the Amuz Gourmet restaurant organized this splendid dinner in collaboration with Chef Richard Gillet, Vice-President of the Asia Pacific Zone and Chef Louis Tanuhadi, Director and Executive Pastry Chef of APCA Indonesia.

This second dinner was no less impressive than the first one, here is a brief overview:

Europe Zone

United Kingdom

On March 7, 2022, for their Epicure’s Dinner and 14th/ 15th Chapter, the Disciples Escoffier of the United Kingdom welcomed their guest of honor, Michel Escoffier, for a reception as well as a 6-course dinner made by the Michelin-starred chefs invited to the Waldorf Hotel in London.

The 150 guests spent an excellent evening accompanied by a charity.
The proceeds of the evening will be donated to Hospitality Action and Springboard Charity.

Africa Indian Ocean

Reunion Indian Ocean

On February 19, the Reunion Indian Ocean delegation made their Ordinary General Assembly as well as a presentation of their projects for 2022.

They’ve had an incredible year despite the pandemic, and 2022 looks like a great year.

More and more inductees, friends and especially a true complicity with Disciples who prove that they are proud to be Disciples Escoffier.

A big thanks to all the chefs who offered this great cocktail reception and to all the Disciples Escoffier of the delegation present!

It should be noted that it was the 2021 inductees who were the ones involved in the preparation of this cocktail! A beautiful concept of unity.
