Normandie Grand Ouest

On Friday, April 23, the Normandie Grand Ouest delegation presented a cheque, funds collected during the Epicure's Dinner commemorating the 175th anniversary of the birth of Auguste Escoffier, in favor of the Red Cross Trouville Deauville Côte Fleurie for 15000 Euros.
MP Christophe Blanchet, mayors of Trouville, St Arnoult, 1st Deputy of the Deauville Town Hall and other elected officials, partners and friends were present.
Congratulations to the Normandie Grand Ouest delegation for their mobilization and this generous donation!
Not to end it there, they also organized their 37th Chapter at Pointe Cap Coz in Fouesnant on April 25.

Thanks to them and their teams for their hospitality.
Welcome to our new Disciples, Quentin of the Isle of Groix and Vincent of Lorient.

Var Alpes du Sud

On 4 May at noon at the Lycée Sévigné of GAP, the Disciples Escoffier of the Var Alpes du Sud delegation, organized a charity meal for 45 Ukrainians under the leadership of the Prefecture represented by its Secretary General as well as by the Town Hall of Gap.
The idea came from a Disciple Escoffier of Tallard in the 05 who, after consultation, implemented this reception with the help of the Lycée Sévigné of GAP, her principal Madame HOFFMAN who is regularly involved with our Association. She has kindly provided them with the restaurant room, the kitchen, the service staff with their teachers, the kitchen staff.
Various suppliers got involved in the supply of goods in order to help them achieve this meal.

Five Chiefs:
Mrs Guillaume BREMOND, Thierry CHOUIN, Jean Pierre LAGIER, Christophe CALAIS, David BAUDOIN (also a cooking teacher at the Lycée)

The icing on the cake was the Calisson that accompanied the coffee, with the Auguste Escoffier Logo framed by the French flag and the Ukrainian flag.

The delegation would also like to thank the 3 interpreters as well as the Moldovan student.

The Disciples felt a certain pleasure from the participants, but an underlying sadness.

A great moment of solidarity!

Italie-Calabre

Barely 4 months after the great Chapter held in Palmi (RC), the first in Italy after the pandemic-imposed pause, the Calabrian delegation organized a new Chapter of Disciples Escoffier International in Pizzo (VV), in collaboration with the Associazione Professionale Cuochi Calabresi and the IMAHR - International Maitres Association Hotel Restaurant. During the induction ceremony, presided by Giuseppe Sgrò, Delegate of the Calabria Region and Vice-President for the Southern Region of Italy, in the presence of the Italian Secretary Antonio Torcasso, the President of the IMAHR Francesco Vaccarella and the Grand Chancellor Vincenzo Pezone, former Escoffier Disciples, others were admitted:

30 new Disciples, with a record of Lie de Vin sashes, attributed to established maitres restaurateurs and professional sommeliers, from all over Italy and abroad. This was the fifth chapter organized in the Region of Calabria by Chief Giuseppe Sgrò, demonstrating the exceptional vitality of this Delegation and the great work of promotion and spreading of the Disciples Escoffier Spirit that it carries out on a daily basis.

Zone Afrique Océan Indien

Océan Indien - Madagascar

Last month, the Normandie Grand Ouest delegation discovered Madagascar through the beauty of its landscapes, its spices and its nature, but also, thanks to Chef Lalaina, its culinary art.

Here is a return in photos of the lunch masterfully orchestrated by the Chef Lalaina of the Marais Restaurant Madagascar.

The Disciples Normandie Grand Ouest would like to thank the President of the Indian Ocean Zone Yves Bouvier for the warm welcome and his many tips that allowed them to live an exceptional trip, and Julien Loray for putting them in contact with them.

They would also like to thank Rova Caviar Madagascar.

Moments of sharing and little Norman allusion as a gift from the president of the Normandy delegation, Christian Girault, an old Calvados to Chef Lalaina.

Zone Asie Pacifique

China

On Friday, April 15, 2022, the Chinese delegation’s epic dinner was held at Rive Gauche, The PuXuan Hotel and Spa, in Beijing.

That evening, this city with grand historical background was treated to a touch of “French-style” romance, and that’s how the feast trip began!

The dinner was specially designed by Basil, the executive chef at PuXuan Hotel and Spa.

This excellent menu delighted the guests.

This evening was the second organized this year in Beijing after their last dinner in March in the Dongchen District but in other cities like Hangzou and Shanghai, Epicurean disciples and friends also met at the Seven Villas Hangzou, at the Ritz Carlton & Bisou Shanghai as soon as the epidemic wave slowed down!

Indonesia

Chef Gilles Marx, President of the Indonesian delegation and founder of the gastronomic restaurant AMUZ Gourmet Jakarta appeared at the Season 9 final of MasterChef Indonesia last month to give a culinary demonstration.

A great challenge for the finalist to duplicate his dish!

It is Chef Gilles Marx’s commitment to quality and excellence that has led to his success, with a few awards and distinctions that he tries to honour every day.

"Never stop learning, listen, share your knowledge, be humble and respectful, these are my recommendations for success in this industry" - Gilles Marx

Tahiti

On May 2, the 2nd chapter of the Tahiti French Polynesia delegation took place at the Dolce, where 8 new Disciples were inducted during the evening.

It was a beautiful moment of sharing around the table, the delegation would like to thank Erwan Lepigniec and all the Dolce team for having welcomed them for this beautiful evening.

A few weeks earlier, the Disciples Escoffier of the Tahiti French Polynesia delegation were also present for the competition of the little chefs of the VAI 2022 (Food and Innovation Village) on the theme “What will we eat in the future?” where the children have faced each other in creativity, imagination and a lot of passion.

Congratulations to the three winners, budding champions!

Which proves that there is definitely no age in having the Escoffier Spirit!
