GA 2021

On 24 June the International General Assembly of our Association took place.
A general assembly again by videoconference, but the choice was simple and studied, this mode of meeting allows the greatest number of our Presidents of delegation (who are our members) to participate.

A few statutory changes, validation of accounts and moral and activity reports for 2021 as well as a projection of our future actions to be carried out were validated by the participants.

 Zone Europe 

Italian Delegation’s visit in Villeneuve Loubet, Bella Italia Project

On June 15, following decisions taken in the Magistral Council, an important meeting took place in Villeneuve Loubet.

It was an important meeting for the future of the Italian Delegation because its founding President, Francesco Ammirati, was coming to the end of his mandate on 1 July 2022, after 42 years.

The delegates of the regional delegations who wished for the resurrection and modernization of this beautiful and large delegation met the Executive Board and Pierre Alain Favre, International Vice President for the Europe Zone, who was appointed Interim President of Italy in anticipation of finding a worthy successor to the Honourable Francesco Ammirati.

A very constructive working day which saw the appointment of Francesco as Honorary President Founder of Italy, and the signing of a convention between Disciples Escoffier International and the Regional Delegations of the Italy delegation.

Lots of work in perspective, for Pierre Alain Favre and his delegates, to put in place this great territory with to start the work, 3 delegates:

Claudio Barisone for the Piedmont Aosta Valley region, Nicola di Filippo for the Campania region and Giovanni Lorenzo Montemaggiore for the Sicily region.

Sicily

On May 17, 2022, a chapter in Sicily took place in the splendid setting of Sciaccamare, on the southwest coast of Sicily, in the province of Agrigento. The programme of meetings of the day was well filled, and saw a space dedicated to the valorization of organic products of the territory of the island which in Italy has the primacy for organic crops under the sign of the protection of the rich heritage of biodiversity of the region.

The Deputy Chairman, Giovanni Lorenzo Montemaggiore and his team, under the leadership of Pierre Alain Favre, International Vice President responsible for the Europe Zone and in charge of the «Bella Italia» redesign project have had the joy of inducting and welcoming 27 new members in the association.

Switzerland

On Sunday 15 May, the Swiss delegation organized their 57th Spring Chapter and their General Assembly.
After the enthronement of 12 new disciples, they celebrated around a magnificent menu made by Philippe Bourrel and his brigade of Prime and Co.
The delegation would like to thank the Ramada Encore Geneva for their welcome and the 80 disciples and friends who joined this beautiful day.

Zone France

RCA Corse Monaco

The 24th Chapter of the RCA Corse Monaco Pays France delegation was held at the restaurant "Le Cantemerle" in Vence on Monday 13 June.

Welcome to the 12 new Disciples of Escoffier who have been inducted for the occasion.

They joined this big family by making an oath to serve and honor the causes of our Master Auguste Escoffier.

Grand Sud Ouest

On Sunday, June 12, 2022, the Disciples of the Grand Sud-Ouest delegation met at the Moulin du Pont restaurant in Lisle in the Dordogne to hold their General Assembly.

On the program, 4 new inductees joined them for their greatest pleasure:

Patrick Marty, the restaurateur who welcomed them, whom they thank.

And Christiane Taille, retired hairdresser.

Grand Lyon

Glimpse of a beautiful induction ceremony for the Escoffier Grand Lyon delegation that took place on June 20, 2022.

The delegation would like to thank the Auteuil Apprentice Team for hosting this colorful event as evidenced by these beautiful shiny sashes and welcomes the newly inducted disciples, many of whom were already among friends!!

Paris Ile de France

The long-awaited Soirée Blanche of the Disciples Escoffier Paris Île de France took place on Friday, July 1st.

Following the COVID situation of recent years, the Parisians have responded more than ever to this now popular soirée blanche.

Nicolas Sale, International President was present alongside Marie Soria the President and Executive Chief of Potel Et Chabot, the famous caterer who orchestrated this evening.

The entire team of the delegation did not count its efforts to organize for the participants an unforgettable moment with an evening under the theme «OSS 117, Paris is no longer answerable!!!

During the aperitif in the traditional showroom of the partners, 36 new Disciples were inducted and are now part of our beautiful family! Welcome to them!

Young Talent Escoffier Selection Asia Pacific

From 15 to 21 June, the candidates for the Young Talents Escoffier competition in the Philippines, China, Indonesia, Singapore and Cambodia delegations met for the Asia Pacific final.

Australia

On June 28 the Escoffier Australia Disciples Chapter was held at the Harbour View Hotel, the Rocks in Sydney.

The members of the delegation, chaired by Christophe Grégoire, are very grateful and honoured to announce the new Vice-President of the Australian delegation, Brad Bennett.

Welcome to their new members, Marie Gittard and Chef Luigi De Luca, and thank you to David and Au Cannelé Gourmand for the magnificent cannelés and to Chef Nicolas Liglet and his team at the Harbour View Hotel, the Rocks in Sydney for the induction ceremony and dinner.

It was an honor for them to welcome their guest Manu Feildel to celebrate and support the spirit of the Disciples Escoffier and they are very excited about the future of the Disciples Escoffier in Australia and their contribution to the International Association.

Tahiti

Back to the first General Assembly of the Disciples Escoffier in French Polynesia, chaired by Christian Fréchède.

A big thanks to RIMAP, its corps chief, Colonel Fabrice Avenel and his entire regiment who welcomed them. The cocktail offered by the guests at the end of the meeting delighted their epicurean taste buds.

Réunion Océan Indien

Les Disciples Escoffier de La Réunion ont repris leur rythme de croisière. Après le pique-nique sur le Domaine de Mélissa, Disciple Chantal Thermea, responsable du Club des Amis - Section Sud -, a organisé un RDV de haute tenue gastronomique, avec le soin méticuleux et précis dont elle a le secret !
Les Vice-Présidents Pierre BARDE et Patrick FRAILLON ainsi que la Vice-Présidente Chahéda RIVIERE, de nombreux Disciples et les Amis ont empli la terrasse et fait honneur au repas exécuté avec un équilibre subtil, alliant en harmonie, touche méditerranéenne et créolité. Bravo au Chef GIORGIOS, c’est du grand art ! Ce fut un régal et « la frais » de l’hiver austral a été vite oubliée, dans l’ambiance chaleureuse et animée du parfait accord Mets-Vins. Félicitations de la part de tous les participants à la Brigade cuisine et service de Stéphanie et Giorgios. Nos gastronomes ont hâte de les retrouver, cette fois autour d’un menu dédié à la délicieuse cuisine grecque, mondialement renommée.

Madagascar

The KANELA bakery and pastry fair on 17, 18 and 19 June 2022 at the Novotel Antananarivo. At the same time the final phase of the national championship of pastry and bakery took place.

Kanela was organized by The Disciples of Auguste Escoffier in Madagascar. Mr Johann Pless is one of them. It was held under the sponsorship of the Ministry of Technical Education and Vocational Training. It brought together all the professionals and amateurs of the hospitality sector. It was also a great time to share.

This competition follows several months of selection. It was weeks of training, investment, training and dedication… The know-how of the island’s young pastry-bakers was in the spotlight.

The President of the Jury was Chief Lalaina Ravelomanana, Disciple Escoffier. This graduate of the prestigious culinary academy of France in 2010, with its international awards, works in Luxury Gastronomy in Madagascar. The second Jury, Chef Pâtisserie and Chocolatier Dominique Le Cadre, also Disciple Escoffier, from Reunion Island, travelled for the occasion. The President of the FHORM, Mr Johann Pless, was part of the Degustation Jury.

The level of each participant was astonishing. They revealed their talents through achievements of rare quality. They chose very good products. Each presentation was breathtaking. The excellence in taste was impressive. After hours of testing, some came out on top. Finally, the first place went to Tahiry de Gusto. Carinah of Maria Restaurant was in second place, so Henintsoa of Propain got third place.
